Donate Equipment

Turn surplus into opportunity.

Your team's leftover parts can start someone else's robotics program and keep equipment out of landfills.

Founding Cohort

We're launching in the Bay Area and recruiting our first 5 founding equipment donors. Early donors help shape how the Exchange works.

Who Can Donate

If you build, you can give.

You don't need to be a big organization to donate. Here are just a few of the builders who share their surplus with us.

Competition teams

If your FRC, FTC, or VEX team has extra parts, spare motors, or a bin that never gets opened, those parts could start a whole new team somewhere else.

Robotics companies

If you have demo units, discontinued inventory, or returned stock with plenty of building left in it, we can find it a good home.

University labs

If your lab is clearing out equipment at the end of a grant cycle, that hardware still works and does not have to sit in storage.

E-waste organizations

If robotics gear passes through your facility, route it to us before it gets shredded. If it can still teach someone to build, it should not be scrap.

Not on this list? If you have robotics equipment to share, reach out anyway. We would love to hear from you.

What We Accept

Every donation is labeled with an honest condition tier.

We accept VEX IQ, VEX V5, FTC, FRC, and LEGO/WeDo equipment. Every listing is labeled honestly so teams know exactly what they're getting.

Working

Tested and confirmed functional

Powered on, checked, ready to build with on day one.

Functional

Appears complete, not recently tested

Stored in good condition but hasn't been powered up recently.

Parts Only

Salvage, incomplete or untested

Great for spares, repairs, and teams that love to tinker.

What We Can't Accept

We're a small, volunteer-run team, so we have to be selective about what we can safely receive and ship. Please don't list:

  • Items broken beyond repair or missing so many parts that no team could actually use them.
  • Loose, swollen, or damaged lithium batteries. These are a shipping and safety hazard. If your batteries are in good condition, just note the type in your listing.
  • Water-damaged, corroded, or fire-damaged electronics.
  • General e-waste unrelated to robotics, like old laptops, phones, or printers.
  • Equipment with exposed wiring or other physical safety hazards.

Not sure if something qualifies? List it anyway and note the condition; we'll follow up if we have questions.

Why Donate

01

Real impact

Your parts directly start a robotics program for kids who couldn't afford one.

02

Beat e-waste

Equipment gets used, not shredded. Every donation keeps hardware out of the landfill.

03

Community

Join a network of builders who believe in expanding access to robotics.
